1How is the climate?
In Costa Rica, we do not experience drastic changes in temperature. We only have 2 seasons: dry (December-April) and rainy (May-November). However, we have more than 8 different microclimates.
2Do I need some vaccines to be able to enter the country?
Costa Rica is one of the countries with the best health care, both private and public. It is recommended to have basic vaccines for hepatitis A and B, as well as rabies and tetanus, before arrival in the country. As a requirement to enter the country, the yellow fever vaccine certificate is requested when traveling from some countries in Africa and South America.
3Would I be able to get a telephone?
An unlocked mobile phone will work in Costa Rica. It is important to call the telephone provider before activating global roaming services to your plan, as it may generate additional costs. It is also possible to buy a prepaid SIM card and use the unlocked mobile phone in Costa Rica.
4What is the currency?
The colon (¢) is the currency of Costa Rica; however, US $ dollars and credit cards are widely accepted in the country. It is recommended to exchange money at banks and authorized exchange agencies. Sales tax or value-added tax (VAT) is 13% and is included in the final price of each service or product purchase.
5What is the language?
Many Costa Ricans speak English quite well; however, we remind you that the mother tongue is Spanish.
6How would the lodging work?
We have wide lodging options according to location and budget, regardless of the option chosen, it is recommended to request a written confirmation of the service and the cancellation policy. Power outlets are 110V, with two-pin US standard plugs.
