UCIMED
With more than 40 years of experience, the University of Medical Sciences, UCIMED, has established itself as the best private university in its field, in Costa Rica. Currently, it is a leader in the training of health professionals, so much so that almost half of the doctors practicing in the country are trained at this university and, many of them, occupy high positions in the country's health system.
Thanks to its academic excellence, UCIMED has achieved important achievements, which marked a milestone in Costa Rican university higher education. Thus, this university became the only private teaching house, authorized to train specialists in the country's public hospitals.
In addition, it is the only private university that teaches the Microbiology career and the only one in the country, which has the new Kaplan international learning method, which seeks to enhance the capacities of students, from the most practical teaching and less rote.
UCIMED has accredited all its undergraduate courses that are Medicine, Microbiology, Nutrition, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy, even our School of Medicine is the only one in the public or private sphere, in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, that manages to obtain international accreditation, a requirement that, from 2023, will be required by the United States.
